This Mindfulness Art Retreat Day For All watercolour class will explore the opportunities to disconnect from your busy lifestyle.
Designed to be creative play, and relieve stress and “Take Your Pencil For A Walk”. Feel more energised, calm and creative. Come along with your significant other, best friend or family member.

This watercolour class will give you the opportunity to loose yourself and hopefully capture some of the delight in creativity you experienced as a child. Designed to be fun, and also a nice way to meet other people enjoying some time out learning a new skill. Classes are kept small, (maximum 8-10 adults) ensuring lots of individual attention.

Designed to be creative play, here is a general outline of the day.  However, there will be some flexibility depending on what the group would like to do and how long to spend on each activity. Take some time out to enjoy and reconnect with nature. Whether you are a complete beginner to watercolour and just simply want to have a go or wishing to improve your skills and gain confidence.

Arrival, refreshments

10.00am - 11.00am
"Taking your pencil for a walk", introduction to the magic of sketching.  Starting with easy drawing warm ups, Learn some simple pencil sketching techniques including light and shade shadows. We will then explore colour mixing, pen and wash and "play" with paint, letting the paint flow.

11.00am - 12.30pm
Weather permitting we will explore the woodland forest beside the studio to practice what we have learned without any goal of leading to a masterpiece. Instead, find pure joy and relaxation in sketching. Then return to the studio and spend our time preparing our main painting for the afternoon.


Buffet lunch including freshly baked home-made cakes from the tea room on site.

Continue to create our watercolour piece. Without any goal to create a masterpiece but enjoy the process,

All day tea and coffee.

Boat ride depending on weather otherwise carry on painting.

4.30pm - Finish


Included     Parking costs, boat ride ticket and all day tea and coffee and lunch
*Note         Timings are flexible to accommodate the speed at which people work.


The retreat takes place upstairs at the activity centre at Rudyard Lake. However, there is a also a lift should you require it.
