9.30am  -    Arrival refreshments

10.00am The day starts with refreshments and an introduction to watercolour and explore techniques such as playing with colour for different effects, tone, wash . With amazing views across the lake, you will find lots of inspiration to draw. We will then explore art and creative play through our subconscious mind and letting go of perfection. Create a simple piece of art to settle in and feel confident.  We will then prepare for our main watercolour piece, either based on your morning sketch or if you prefer to follow a photograph around the theme of Rudyard Lake

12.00pm     Buffet lunch including freshly baked cakes all prepared that morning on site by the tea room.

1.00pm    Building on from the morning sketch books we will create our watercolour piece inspired by our surroundings. All materials that you need for the day will be provided but please bring apron and wear clothes that you don't mind getting paint on them.

4.00pm      Finish

*Note         Timings are flexible to accommodate the speed at which people work. Depending on the weather and the group, we will go on a boat ride across the lake, or if you prefer to stay and continue to paint, that will be possible.

VENUE

The retreat takes place upstairs at the activity centre at Rudyard Lake. However, there is a also a lift should you require it.
